Stephen Mangan (Director)
Steve joined Corbett & Co in 2000 as a solicitor. He has particular expertise in the use of FIDIC forms of contract. His practice involves acting for clients in both international construction arbitrations and DAB proceedings. He has also dealt with disputes in the UK including proceedings before the Technology and Construction Court and in adjudication.
Steve graduated with a BA at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Following a career in public housing, he qualified as a solicitor with Warner Cranston where he then joined its Construction Litigation department. During his six and a half years with Warner Cranston, Steve worked on a variety of large-value construction disputes and professional indemnity claims against construction professionals.
Steve has an MSc (Merit) in Construction Law and Arbitration from King’s College, London, and has conducted advocacy in DAB proceedings, and written on construction law. He has experience in FIDIC, ICE, JCT, MF1 and bespoke forms of construction contract. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the International Bar Association (IBA), and the Society of Construction Law. Steve was born in New Zealand and has dual New Zealand and Irish nationality. He is a Spanish speaker.
